An unbelievably, hyper-inflated sense of Self-Importance

This woman is simply unbelievable.

At the time of writing, she has been already fined once by the authorities for not observing the Circuit Breaker measures  ie: refusing to wear a mask in public

And she has yet been found again, refusing to wear a mask, despite being offered one by members of the public.

She defiantly insists that the law does not apply to her as she is a "Sovereign", and that she "has nothing to with the police."

How unbelievably arrogant of her to BELIEVE that she is ABOVE THE LAW in Singapore, at a time where the Covid-19 is wreaking havoc with our country and all of our lives.

Well, too bad for you.

Because you will find out that whatever nonsense you believe about your perceived "sovereignty" , it has no standing whatsoever in the eyes of the law in Singapore.

Because you will find out that while Citizenship comes with its privileges and benefits, it also comes with many obligations, of which one of most basic, is to obey the law.

Because while you may believe that you have nothing to do with the police, the police will definitely have plenty to do with you.

And for willfully breaking the law repeatedly, especially at a time of crisis, you will have to face the consequences of your most irresponsible actions.

Oh, and by the way, if you truly believe that you are "sovereign", then make sure you:

(a) Return the $600 covid assistance from the SG Govt.
(b) Don't use your Singapore Passport. In fact, you should return it.
(c) Don't use any of the SG Govt subsidies for housing, healthcare and education. Make sure you pay the full, un-subsidize rate for any govt service you use.
(d) Since you are a woman, make sure you don't ever claim or use any paternity benefits, including the 16-weeks of paid maternity leave.

In fact, put your money where your mouth is. Just renounce your citizenship and leave Singapore all together.

Go and be "sovereign" all you want in international waters lah. Because EVEN IF you renounce your SG citizenship, as long as you are in Singapore, you are still subject to our laws.

Alex Tan Zhixiang is a cesspool of self-inflicted bitterness and hatred

Does anyone actually think that Alex Tan is capable of writing anything unbiased against Singapore?

The Real Singapore, Straits/State Times Review, etc etc... all these are the hatred-filled cesspools in which Alex Tan manufactures tall tales filled with illogical reasoning  from his deranged mind.

Is this the end of States Times Review?

Well, well, who would have thought that this day would finally come so soon?.

States Times Review (STR), the website  cesspool of bullshit, fake news and twisted lies sprouted by one Alex Tan Zhixiang is no longer accessible in Singapore as of 9 Nov 2018.

On 5 Nov 2018, Alex Tan had published an article titled "Lee Hsien Loong becomes 1MDB’s key investigation target" on STR.  The article made several serious allegations about PM Lee and the IMBD scandal.

Alex Tan alleged that Malaysia had signed several unfair agreements with Singapore in exchange for Singapore banks’ assistance in laundering the funds of 1MDB.

Alex Tan also claimed that the editor of Sarawak Report, Ms Clare Rewcastle, had revealed in an interview with Malaysian media that "Singapore is one of the key investigation targets, alongside Switzerland and United States" in the 1MDB scandal.

This claim was categorically rejected by Sarawak Report who responded to this claim on Thursday by calling it "erroneous" and disowned the remarks. It also sought a correction from States Times Review. "SR has not given any such interview and has not written on this subject," Sarawak Report said in a Facebook post.

Further more, SR had also acknowledged the role that MAS had played in "unravelling corruption linked to the fund"

Alex Tan was ordered take down the STR article by the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) by 5pm on 9 Nov, failing which IMDA would then direct Internet Service Providers to restrict access to the site.

Obviously, Alex Tan refused to do so

Subsequently, STR was blocked after the deadline lapsed.

Soon after, Alex Tan announced on the STR Facebook page that the "States Times Review Facebook page will be shut down "two weeks from now" while the website will remain until the end of the next General Elections."

Is this the really last time that we will hear from Alex Tan?

Well, let's see how trust worthy Alex Tan's words are from his track record social media posts.

Nope, he definitely didn't keep to his word on this.

Freedom of Speech? Where got?

Anyway, it is very unlikely that this will be the last we hear from Alex Tan.

He is simply too self-delusional and egotistical to give it up. It will be a matter of time before Alex Tan returns to pollute cyberspace with his delusional bullshit again.

But in the meantime, please always fact-check what you read on the Internet before you get conned or lied to. Don't let yourself be made a fool.

Mahathir the Riddler and The High Speed Rail Project

Updates:
And so the flip-floping continues on from M'sia...

19 July 2018: TODAY - In U-turn, Dr Mahathir says Malaysia to negotiate deferment of HSR with Singapore
When asked by reporters on whether there are options to defer the project or reduce the cost, he replied: “At the moment when we look at the financial situation of the country, we thought that we couldn’t go ahead with that.”
"The problem is that if we just unilaterally discard the agreement, we have to pay a very high compensation."
Having studied the contract, it was decided that “we will have to do it at a later date or we may have to reduce the price”, Dr Mahathir added. Read more here.

18 July 2018: New Straits Times - HSR not entirely off the table, fate lies in upcoming discussion between Malaysia and Singapore
"We have not excluded the possibility of the project going on, but are not making any suggestions unless there is a consensus from both countries.” Economic Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin told reporters at the Dewan Rakyat lobby. Read more here.

========================================================

Here’s a summary of the HSR headlines from a Malaysian News/Media portal – The Star Online, from 24 Jan 2017 to 9 July 2018. (Latest news at bottom)

Read them and see for yourself if you can decide what Mahathir/Malaysia really, really wants to do with the HSR project.

24 Jan 2017: The Star Online - Mahathir opposes HSR project
Citing financial constraints, the former prime minister (Mahathir), who is chairman of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia, said the HSR contract signed between Malaysia and Singapore may not be a done deal if the Opposition comes to power. We need to do a study whether it is feasible or not because we don’t have the money and we have to borrow money, and that is not something the Government can bear at this moment. We have to know whether we really need this HSR or not,” he told The Sunday Times in an interview. Read more here

28 May 2018: The Star Online - Mahathir to drop high-speed rail project with Singapore: FT
"We need to do away with some of the unnecessary projects, for example the high-speed rail, which is going to cost us RM110bn ($28bn) and will not earn us a single cent. That will be dropped," Mahathir told the Financial Times. "We have an agreement with Singapore. We have to talk with Singapore about dropping that project," he said, according to Reuters. Read more here

2 Jun 2018: The Star Online - Guan Eng on HSR: 'You can get something... for half the price.'
Asked if the economic benefits outweighed the cost of the rail link, Lim replied: “Is it worth it? You can get something for cheaper, for half the price.” Read more here.

12 Jun 2018: The Star Online - HSR project postponed, not scrapped, Dr M tells Japanese media“We cannot say we will never have high-speed rail (HSR) in Malaysia. What we can do is we can postpone the project because it is far too costly at this moment.” After being sworn in as prime minister, he had announced on May 28 that Malaysia will be dropping the HSR project with Singapore, citing it as an “unnecessary project. However, in his interview with Nikkei Asian Review, Dr Mahathir commented that the Singapore HSR project is merely postponed. “We actually postponed the implementation of that project.Read more here.

15 Jun 2018: The Star Online - Govt will consider reviving HSR project in the future
Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng: “As far as the HSR is concerned, it's scrapped for now as announced by the Prime Minister but in the future, that is something that we want to discuss with the Government” Read more here.

9 Jul 2018: The Star Online - Singapore not told of HSR status but knows what Malaysia wants
Mahathir: "We have not given them full notice yet but they know what we want to do."Watch the interview on YouTube here

Mahathir doing what he does best - Being vague

Video source: The Star Online

Here are some unbelievable quotes from the media interview.

"Decisions are not so easily made. When we make a decision and announce it, the market reacts negatively. The market apparently likes to be told lies about how good everything is so they will give you good marks. But if we tell them we have discovered a lot of wrongdoings, they react by running away with the money, they stop investing and all that. But in fact what we are doing now is to ensure that this country is financially run properly."

"So when we make an announcement, we have people who react negatively. So that's why we have to be very careful about what we say."

"As far as the Singapore Government is concerned, we have not given them full notice yet, but they know what we want to do"

"I think you should read your own press...(when asked what M'sia wanted to do about the HSR)

This is all bullshit and blatant political showmanship to publicly pressure S'pore as well as seek out nationalist political support by making S'pore the common evil enemy of all M'sians.

There is no big mystery or some genius strategy of Mahathir at work.

This is exactly what he did  during the 1998 to 2003 "package deal" negotiations when he was last PM. When he did not get what he wanted, he tried to apply public pressure on S'pore by making misleading public statements. S'pore then had no choice but to set the record straight by releasing the official correspondences between the two PMs. (See here for a summary of the 1998-2003 negotiations)

The most plausible explanation for Mahathir's apparent reluctance to officially communicate to the SG Govt about M'sia's decision to cancel the HSR project, is Mahathir knows very well that once he does that, S'pore will have indisputable proof that M'sia was the one who first initiated to officially cancel the HSR project, and hence M'sia becomes liable not just for S'pore's losses but potentially for all other involved parties' losses.

If M'sia's coffers are really as empty as Mahathir says, do you think he would dare to risk incurring the cancellation's potentially huge liabilities?

For all we know, just the very notion of officially canceling the HSR project and becoming liable for losses may well push M'sia right into the realm of national bankruptcy.

This is just "wayang kulit" (shadow shadow puppet play) put up by Mahathir to see if S'pore will blink and cave in first on officially canceling the HSR project.

If S'pore does so, and falls into Mahathir's trap, then M'sia would have a plausible reason/excuse to deny any liabilities for the cancellation, citing that S'pore was actually the party who first officially communicated the project's cancellation whereas all M'sia did was merely do media interviews, press releases only.

Unfortunately for Mahathir, and M'sia, there is no happy ending to this wayang kulit. He must be senile to hope S'pore would fall into his clumsy trap.

Historian(?) turned Professional liar fails in latest attempt to alter history

The notoriously incompetent historian (?) turned Professional Liar Thum Ping Tjin, was called out for attempting to alter history ... yet again.

Liar Thum had attempted to make people believe that Lee Kuan Yew’s 1985 address to the US Congress was not well received by posting a cartoon that cast doubt on how the event went.

Liar Thum then went on to implied that Lee Kuan Yew’s stellar international reputation was just made-up by “the government-controlled media”.

However, due to his sheer incompetence and failure to fact-check (a trait that should be second-nature for historians), Liar Thum did not realize that there was a YouTube video (with over 90k views) of that very same speech by Lee Kuan Yew. Thus adding yet another dismal attempt to his resume of misleading people and attempting to revise history with his own brand of interpretation.

Here's the link to that YouTube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6CZ3C0niPg
See 3:15, 4:11, 5:26 and for Standing ovation at 9:47.

However, even when caught pants-down-and-on-fire, Liar Thum still tried to play dumb in hopes of pushing away the responsibility for his failed lie onto the International Herald Tribune.

Liar Thum must think people are stupid enough not to see through his ploy. Don’t you think you should have fact-checked before posting this, Liar Thum? In the age of Google search, there is simply no reason not to. Got more stupidly cock person or not?

Liar Thum, no one is stopping you from criticizing Lee Kuan Yew.

But using lies, half-truths and ignoring inconvenient facts to shape your “new narrative” of history is just a dick move. And it shows the severe lack of integrity and honor in your character, and how lowly you think of S'poreans that they would simply believe the rubbish you sprout.

See Thum's previous attempt to revise History here.

Amos reaps what he sows

According to Amos’s recent posts on FB, he has been evicted from his current shelter due to his controversial video/views advocating for pedophilia (yes its true, Amos thinks pedophilia is ok), and so now he is “sleeping on a couch owned by modern-day hippies”.
Even more serious, he’s also received death threats. And yet, he still has the arrogance to spell out his many “requirements” (like free Wifi) for anyone who wants to take pity on this dumbass and offer him shelter for a pittance.

Amos thinks that there are stupid suckers out there who would become his de-facto parents - providing everything that he WANTS with little to no rent.

Is Amos’s latest plight at all surprising to anyone?

There are some commenters who think that Amos was simply trolling for attention/shock-value (yes) to boost his flagging YouTube viewership/income (yes) and he doesn't really support pedophilla (I highly doubt so).
There are also an increasing number of Americans who are actively calling for Amos’s asylum status to be revoked and be expelled from the country.

Sorry America, Singapore has a “Sold Goods not Returnable” policy. You can keep Amos for yourselves. We don’t want him either.

Whatever Amos’s motivation for his pedophilia video, all I can say is too bad dumbass. You reap what you sow. Amos's actions and words are what have landed him in his current situation.

Amos and his supporters like to think that America has freedom of speech, which allows for any, and everything to be said or done without consequence.

What naïve Amos is only now realizing to his horror; even in the Land of the Free, there will be direct and adverse consequences to what you say or do.

Why we have little to no confidence in SG's "Activists"

Tell me lah.. how to believe or support these Activists when they have a credibility/trust issue?

You can be passionate about your cause BUT that does not give you (or your cause) the license to bend the truth or manufacture half-truths or cast any baseless aspersions. Such actions neither aids you, nor help the cause you are championing.

In fact, in the eyes of the public, such lies will destroy any shred of credibility you or your cause may have - no matter how worthy the cause.

Source: FLOP FB Page
It is not called a "raid" for nothing. You think that these criminal elements are going to play nice when they are about to be arrested for their illegal activities? Grow some brain-cells can?

And further more, by casting such baseless accusations at the police, you are putting the interests of one group (ie: sex workers) over the interests of another group (ie: the police/general public).

Who are you to decide whose interests are more important? Are you saying the for the sake of your interests/cause, the ends justify the means?

The trust between the public and the police is paramount. It allows the police to carry out their work without any unnecessary duress or bias, and it enables the public to believe that the police are carrying out their duties without favor or fear, to the spirit as well as the letter of the law.

Look at what is happening in other countries where there is low trust/respect between the police and the public. Justice takes a back seat to all the political bickering and posturing. There are charges of corruption and abuse of power being thrown about. The police force becomes increasingly ineffective against crime and are regarded as lacking legitamacy in their actions. Crime levels go up. Is that what you want to see happening in S'pore? (See more here)

As such, any allegations of wrong-doing by the police must be properly reported to the appropriate authorities and be investigated.  And if any wrong-doing is found, either by the police or by the accuser, then the guilty parties must be punished according to the full-extend of the law.

And this is not just an isolated case of an Activist trying to stretch the truth in order to gain public sympathy.

Other NGOs/causes have been found to be taking a more than liberal interpretation of the facts when they post their "complaints" about the Govt or {Insert Govt agency name here}. (See here).

If you cannot advocate for your cause without dealing in the facts, then you are simply a waste of everyone's time. Don't pretend to be ignorant or claim innocent sharing on social media when you post such baseless accusations without any evidence.

Interestingly, she has already taken down her posts.

So what does that mean? The allegations made in her post are serious charges. And we believe if the police were found guilty of these charges, there would be serious consequences.

Was she lying? Does she stand by what she had posted? Or was it simply a vicious, unjustified and baseless attack on the police, made to advance her cause? If she truly believes what she posted, then she should be making a report to the police or CPIB. Where's her integrity?

And here is what K Shanmugam (Min. for Home Affairs and Law) had to say:

Americans are starting the realize the truth about Amos

Americans are starting to realize what many of us Singaporeans already know about Amos  - that he is simply a attention-seeking brat.

Recently, Amos was interviewed by Jeff Holiday (a YouTuber) for more than 2 hours about Amos's views on pedophiles and child pornagraphy.

And here is a follow up video by Jeff, stating out what he thinks of Amos.

TLDR version? I think its summed up in this quote.

"Amos Yee is not worth the emotional trauma that you can get from having to listening to his absolutely stupid dog shit ideas. Don't let him get under your skin." - Jeff Holiday (21:33)

hahahahah.....

Meanwhile, back in Singapore, the Government is considering new penalties for sex crimes targeting women and kids online. (Read here).

Amos sets the world on fire again

ICYMI (or more likely couldn’t give a damn about him), Amos was given refugee status in Sept 2017 and has been released from detention (after 10 months +-) in America. (Read here).

Needless to say, he has been back to his usual antics - which is posting a video on a controversial topic and trying to milk some money off YouTube/social media/donations.

So what’s new right?

What's new that is Amos is touching on a very sensitive topic, even for the US.

Amos has chosen to advocate for pedophiles, and even makes the outrages claim that child pornography should be permitted and that babies/children can consent to sex.

His views are so ridiculously bat-shit crazy and gives so much weird anecdotal evidence and assumptions that you can’t help but wonder at WTF is going on in his head.

To date, Amos has made about 3 YouTube videos on this topic but his 20th Nov one is probably the most controversial one.

I’m not going to post his video links here (simply because I do not want to drive traffic to him and hence make him a couple of cents) but you should be able to find it quite easily, together with tons of rebuttal videos.

Instead, here are some articles and rebuttal videos about what Amos has said.

In this video, Jeff Holiday calmly talks to, and rebuts Amos about his views, and from Amos's incoherent and often nonsensical responses here, we see exactly how bat-shit crazy he is.

Update: In a follow up video here (21 Nov 2017), Jeff analyses what Amos is, and it is telling. Why am I not surprised at his conclusions?

Priceless quote

"Amos Yee is not worth the emotional trauma that you can get from having to listening to his absolutely stupid dog shit ideas. Don't let him get under your skin." - Jeff Holiday (21:33)

When he was in Singapore, the views that he was espousing caused so much public outrage that a man actually lost control and went up to him in front of the Subordinate Courts (Vigilantism is wrong but this dude’s got some balls to do this in such a heavily policed location.) and slapped Amos right across the face. (Read here). In that context, I’m not sure if Amos fully understands the implications of the fact that he is now in America, the world’s most gun-crazy country.

Any how I wonder what Amos’s supporters and his donors think of him now.

Guess Amos is slowing finding out that absolute freedom of speech does not exist - even in America.

Chee Soon Juan tries to spin yet another lie

Sigh.. why is Chee Soon Juan agitating again for a By-Election?

There is nothing dubious or nefarious about why the Govt is not calling for a By-Election to fill the GRC seat vacated by Madam Halimah Yacob.

Madam Halimah Yacob resigned her position as MP for the Marsiling-Yew Tee Group Representative Constituency (GRC) to stand as a candidate for the Singapore Presidential Elections.

The main operative word(s) here being : "Group Representative Constituency (GRC)"

Section 24(2A) of the Parliamentary Elections Act clearly states that no writ of election can be issued unless ALL THE MPs in a GRC have vacated their seats in Parliament.

Source: Singapore Online Statues - Parliamentary Elections Act (Chapter 218), Section 24(2A)

Madam Halimah Yacob's resignation does not mean that all of the four seats of Marsiling-Yew Tee GRC are now empty. This is because the GRC still has three other MPs - Mr Lawrence Wong, Mr Alex Yam and Mr Ong Teng Koon.

And remember, the PAP Govt has never shied away from calling for a By-Election when it is required by the law, even if it meant that it may lose that seat to the opposition.

In 1981, PAP MP Devan Nair resigned to appointed as the President of Singapore. His resignation trigger the Anson By-Elections in which the PAP lost the single-seat constituency to then WP's J.B. Jeyaretnam. (Source)

In 2013, when PAP MP and Parliament Speaker Michael Palmer resigned due to personal indiscretions, the resulting By-Election resulted in PAP losing the single-seat constituency of Punggol East to the WP's Lee Li Lian.

The only GRC By-Election ever to have been held was in 1992 for Marine Parade GRC.

In this case, the GRC By-Election was trigger when ALL FOUR MPs (including then PM Goh Chok Tong) of the Marine Parade GRC had resigned from their seats. (Source)

Chee Soon Juan is simply lying when he says that "the Govt is refusing to call for a By-Election".

The facts here is simply, that our laws governing the GRC, does not require a By-Election to be held.

All things considered, Chee is simply just being Chee.

Character is indeed, permanent.

See more of the dubious shit things that Chee Soon Juan and SDP doesn't want voters to know.

Chee Soon Juan tries his luck yet again.

CSJ eyes Marsiling-Yew Tee! But ddn't he promise his supporters that he would stay in Bukit Batok
and fight the next GE there? Onward Singapore

Note: We replace the original video soundtrack with something that we thought was more appropriate for this clown Chee. See the original video by Onward Singapore FB page here.

Chee Soon Juan is at it yet again.

He and his party is trying anything, and everything to agitate for a By-Election, so that Chee can have yet another shot at being elected into Parliament.

In a single seat constituency, the resignation of a MP automatically triggers a By-election.

This last happened for Bukit Batok constituency in 2016, where PAP MP David Ong had resigned due to personal indiscretions. Two candidates came forward - SDP's Chee Soon Juan (38.8% votes) and PAP's Murali Pillai (61.2% votes).

In 2017, Madam Halimah Yacob resigned her position as MP for the Marsiling-Yew Tee Group Representative Constituency (GRC) to stand as a candidate for the Singapore Presidential Elections.

What Chee would like you to believe, is that the Govt is flagrantly flouting the law by not calling for a By-Election to fill Madam Halimah Yacob's now empty seat in the GRC.

However, this is simply not the case.

Section 24(2A) of the Parliamentary Elections Act states that no writ of election can be issued unless ALL THE MPs in a GRC have vacated their seats in Parliament.

(2A)  In respect of any group representation constituency, no writ shall be issued under subsection (1) for an election to fill any vacancy unless all the Members for that constituency have vacated their seats in Parliament.
Parliamentary Elections Act (Chapter 218), Section 24(2A)

Madam Halimah Yacob's resignation does not mean that all of the four seats of Marsiling-Yew Tee GRC are now empty. This is because the GRC still has three other MPs - Mr Lawrence Wong, Mr Alex Yam and Mr Ong Teng Koon.

"Seriously, what makes Chee think by election is compulsory when one vacates the seat in a GRC?
Did he even read the constitution at all?" Pic: Shut Down TRS FB page

The 'FiveStarsAndaMoon Blog' also has a good summary on why the call for By-Elections cannot be mandatory here. Here's a quote:

Singapore’s system of election focuses on political parties rather than on individual candidates. Candidates represent their respective political parties, and the party that attains the highest number of elected candidates forms the government.
The governing party then receives its mandate through its candidates. For this reason, the Prime Minister retains “full discretion as to when and whether to call a by-election as the vacancy does not affect the mandate of the government”.
Ok, that is a mouthful, I’ll shorten it for you: A government had already been formed, there is no practical need to fill that one vacancy. The Government of the day will decide on whether or not an election should be called.
That had been the precedence since 2008 and if it should ever be reviewed in Court, this will continue to form the precedent.
FiveStarsAndaMoon

So Chee continues to act according to his character - selling snake oil  twisting facts and misleading his way around, hoping to one day be elected into Parliament.

You would think that after all these years of rejection from the voters, that Chee would have finally gotten the message.

After all, Chee has stood in open elections 5 times, and have never been elected.

Look at his track record. Can you really trust this snake man?

See more of the dubious shit things that Chee Soon Juan and SDP doesn't want voters to know.
